Switching from Hamachi to non-Hamachi

So i'm in school right now, and i'm bored as hell so i'm like "hey why not open your e-mail and check your messages" so i did and i noticed and e-mail from this site, anyways cutting to the point since i'm freezing my figers off right now. I was looking around and noticed this hamachi post, and it made me think hey i can contribute something to help you guys out, to help you make this a non- hamachi server, since people prefer a server without hamachi, which would make this server more popular and attract more people and at the same time earn me some browny points with you guys xD, so if you need my help let me know i'll be more then happy to contribute something, and if your having to much problems making the server i might just make it for you, since i have some experience making servers with both Java Script and c++ and something else which is forgot about because it sucks more then c++, anyways i doubt any one is online right now, but i'll keep checking anyways since i have nothing better to do in school then waste my time. oh and i almost forgot there are certain requirements you need to have to have a server without hamachi, you need a static ip, which means your ip address never changes, if you don't you can still work something out i'm sure. anyways i hope i can help Razz

Good idea... interesting at that. What you're getting at is to make this server non hamachi, I just need to code the client with my IP not my Hamachi IP.

Well is not as simple as you put it, but pretty much yeah, is complicated if you don't have a static ip address because that means your ip would change a lot, so the game client wouldnt work for people when that happens and your server would go down as well, so like i said you need to find out what kind ip address you have, one way to find out is by calling your internet provider and asking them if you do or not, and if you don't they'll ask you if you want one but you gotta pay for it, but if you got business class internet it comes included, or you could just try and google "how to find out what type of ip address i got" and look arouund, so remember you also need to code the server with your ip not just the client, and it gets more complicated after that. you have to open up certain ports on your modem in order for this to work. good luck xD

Well if your here you probably need help with Hamachi. Hosting and joining are two different things so we'll cover both. As always download Hamachi here: https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp It is how you host with KCVDS. To host
